We expanded our Community Arts Access Program to include the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater for the first time, giving locals the opportunity to apply for free tickets to all Amp Summer Concerts through an online lottery system, along with all Vail Dance Festival performances and select shows at the Vilar Performing Arts Center.

Transformational upgrades
Construction began in fall 2025 on phase 1 of a comprehensive $19 million renovation that will enhance the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater for decades to come. Phase 1 includes replacing the pavilion seats, installing hand railings, and remodeling the front-of-house production area. The project is part of our Empowering Possibility Capital Campaign and will take place over the off seasons to preserve summer programming, with all work expected to be complete by May 2028.
Earning national recognition
USA Today readers showed how much they love the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater by voting it the #4 Best Amphitheater in the country in the annual 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The Bulleit Hot Summer Nights free concert series also earned the #5 spot for Best Outdoor Concert Series, marking its second year in a row on the list. These recognitions put our venue, along with the Vail Dance Festival and our partners at Bravo! Vail Music Festival, in the media spotlight.
A home for Bravo! Vail
The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater will continue as the home of the Bravo! Vail Music Festival’s Orchestral Series through 2035, following the announcement of an eight-year partnership extension. The agreement acknowledges the immense cultural and economic value that Bravo! Vail Music Festival has brought to the Vail Valley for nearly 40 years, and it includes a $5 million commitment from Bravo! Vail toward our comprehensive amphitheater improvements.
